A little away from the beach lies another side of Torbay which should not be overlooked.  These hidden gems can reveal sources of history and culture every bit as rewarding as the usual sea side activities.  From the ancient skeletal remains of Neolithic man at Kent's Cavern, to the birthplace of one of the most popular crime writers.  The landing place of William of Orange, Atmospheric Railway built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Isaac Merrit Singer, Isadora Duncan and many many more.  Many estates and landmarks in what is now called Torbay have received a mention in The Doomaday Book (1085-86).

The Red Arrows Flying Display over Torbay.
